Established in 1749, the Appleton Estate Rum runs deep into Jamaican rum-distilling&#8217;s unique customs and traditions. The expert Master Blender, Joy Spence, can educate you on the finer points of their rum, including the aging process in oak barrels spanning anywhere from four to fifty years. Appleton Estate 1999 Hearts Collection is a special limited edition, distilled in Forsyth Pot Still and aged for 21 years before being corked up at an impressive 63% ABV. Consisting of an admirable blend of 12 casks, this limited release was tropically aged in former bourbon barrels. Following the conquest, Frances Dickinson \u2014 a soldier in Venables&#8217; army \u2014 was granted land in exchange for his honorable services. This land would eventually become the foundation of the Appleton Estate.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1749, the Appleton Estate has been crafting some of the world&#8217;s finest rum from sugarcane grown on it&#8217;s 11,000 acre estate. Once the sugarcane is harvested, it is fermented with exceptionally soft water that originates on the Estate and is naturally filtered through limestone hills. In addition, the fermentation proce ss uses a proprietary strain of yeast that contributes a unique aroma and flavor profile to the rum.
