About Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2022 Japanese Whisky<\/h2>\n

Hibiki Whisky was launched in 1989 as a celebration of Suntory’s 90th anniversary. Today, the brand celebrates the art of blending through a lineup of harmonious whiskies that are among the most highly awarded Japanese whiskies in the world. Launched in 2022, Hibiki Blossom Harmony is a blend of malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries. Crafted by fifth-generation Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo, the whisky was finished in cherry-picked sakura (Japanese cherry) casks that imparted the spirit with delicate floral and spicy aromas. Bottled at 86 proof in 2022, the whisky is a limited-edition release.<\/p>\n

About Hibiki<\/h2>\n

In February 1899, Shinjiro Torii opened a store in Osaka, Japan, that traded in imported wines. Within a decade, Torii began producing his own sweet grape wine called Akadama Port Wine, which became wildly popular throughout the country. In 1923, Torri \u2014 fascinated by whisky his entire life \u2014 decided to expand his business and began constructing the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s first-ever whisky distillery. <\/p>\n

Although inspired by traditional Scottish distilleries, Torii envisioned a uniquely Japanese approach to whisky and chose a location for his distillery that offered a climate and terrain utterly different from those of Scotland. Nestled on the periphery of Kyoto, Yamazaki Distillery is situated at the confluence of three rivers \u2014 the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu \u2014 that provide the warm, damp environment ideal for the production and maturation of whisky. <\/p>\n

Fifty years after the construction of Yamazaki Distillery, Keizo Saji inherited his father’s vision and constructed Suntory’s second distillery. Situated amidst the deep forests of Mount Kai komagatake in Japan’s southern Alps, the Hakushu Distillery enjoys a unique microclimate as a result of being surrounded by nearly 6,000 varieties of plants and thousand-year-old granite rocks. <\/p>\n
