This whiskey is celebrating Coy Hill, the highest-elevated rolling hill on the Jack Daniels Distillery property. Because of its high elevation, Coy Hill is exposed to the most extreme weather conditions that result in rich molasses and concentrated barrel spice. The whiskey is demonstrating perfectly how the location of the distillery can bring out some of the deepest and most complex flavors. <\/p>\n

Jack Daniels goes one step further in ensuring layers of complex flavor on this special release, bottling it in its purest form straight from the barrel, with only minimal filtration. Uncut at 137.4 – 148.3 proof, it has ABV ranging from 68.7-74.15%. This bottle should hold its proud upright position at all times. About Jack Daniel’s<\/h2>\n

Born on September 5, 1850, Jasper Newton \u201cJack\u201d Daniel was the youngest of ten children. His parents were of Scottish and Irish descent. In 1864, Jack learned the art of whiskey-making from a preacher and an enslaved man named Nathan \u201cNearest\u201d Green, who eventually became Jack Daniel Distillery\u2019s head distiller. Daniel\u2019s distillery \u2014founded in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1866\u2014 was the first registered distillery in the country (at the time, distilleries were required to register with the federal government, and the Jack Daniel Distillery was given Registered Distillery Number 1). Today, Jack Daniel Distillery is one of the most distinguished and recognizable names in the spirits industry. <\/p>\n

About American Whiskey<\/h2>\n

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don’t fall into those two strictly regulated categories.<\/p>\n
