About Booker’s Backyard BBQ Straight Bourbon Whiskey<\/h2>\n

Following the end of the American Revolutionary War, Johannes Reginald Beam emigrated from Germany to the United States and eventually settled in Kentucky County. At the time, Kentucky County was still considered part of Virginia and was overseen by a military governor named John J. Bowman. After settling in Kentucky, Beam began harvesting corn and set forth a family tradition by distilling the excess grains he harvested into whiskey. Since then, seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production for the eponymous company (the company is actually named after James Beam, who rescued it following Prohibition).<\/p>\n

This high octane BBQ inspired Booker\u2019s Bourbon is raw, uncut and unfiltered. This bourbon is the second release and iteration this year after \u201cKathleen\u2019s Batch.\u201d Comprised of barrels from six locations and three warehouses hand selected by Master Distiller Fred Noe on a cold spring day, this \u201cBackyard BBQ\u201d Bourbon is inspired by Noe\u2019s love for hosting cookouts or \u201cBourbon-ques\u201d in his backyard. At nearly 130 proof you can expect sweet, smoky notes of soft caramel, honey, cinnamon, and maple followed by smooth vanilla notes.<\/p>\n

About Booker’s<\/h2>\n

Jim Beam’s grandson Booker Noe couldn’t wait to turn 21 \u2015 not so he could start drinking, but rather distilling. Being 6th generation distiller with Beam blood coursing through his veins, as well as growing up in the heart of Kentucky, it was only natural. He worked for years as a Master Distiller, then st arted bottling his very own bourbon as gifts for family and friends after retiring. In 1988 he released the first batch of his namesake Booker\u2019s Bourbon to the public, coining the phrase “small batch” along the way. Today Booker’s is run by his son Fred and operates under the Jim Beam distillery. “Fred, make sure they don’t mess with my Booker’s,” is what he requested of his son at his retirement. <\/p>\n
